Dr. Karen Lederer

It’s in my nature to want to achieve the best possible results for my patients—it has been since my first career as a Registered Nurse. I learned a lot about myself during that time, like how I thrive in team-oriented settings and when I do something, I like to make sure it’s done right the first time.

I decided to get into dentistry so I could channel my desire to help people and get back to patient-focused care. I was able to take what I learned in my years as a nurse, like the importance of building rapport and taking my time with patients, and bring that into my dental profession so I can ensure my patients truly feel cared for.

To me, there is artistry in dentistry. I love making every smile its own masterpiece. At the same time, I am supportive of functionality too, so my patients get the best of both worlds.

Yes Dental is built on the belief that every patient should be presented with options for their care so they can make informed decisions and feel comfortable knowing they are in control of their dental health.

I’ve known Dr.Lederer since our boys were little. One day, in a pinch, she asked me to come and help out at her clinic, and I agreed, never thinking it would turn into more. That was 12 years ago. In between now and then I actually entered retirement, until more recently, when I found myself working here once again as part of the YES Dental team.

There’s something about YES Dental that keeps calling me back, and I think it’s because our team is second to none. Our team shares the same vision and goals. We work together seamlessly and always treat our patients with respect, kindness, and honesty. We know we’re responsible for meeting the patient’s health needs, and we keep this close to our hearts.

I love how working at YES Dental has allowed me to assist different generations in the same family. Families continue to visit us as they grow through life’s many milestones, and this is a testament to our success in how we make our patients feel. We truly care about our patients and we love what we do.

Life can be stressful, and sometimes the best thing we can do is take a breath and listen to one another. Many of the patients who visit YES Dental are greeted by my face first, and that’s a big deal to me. I’ve been in the dental industry for over 23 years, but what stands out to me about YES Dental is just how phenomenal our patients are. I love connecting with our patients and making them smile. My work suits me perfectly because it has elements of communication and relationship building, both of which I consider my strengths. I always knew I would work in health care, and I decided to pursue dental hygiene because I wanted the opportunity to build relationships with my patients. I relate to our patients a lot, and putting them at ease comes naturally to me. Being able to chat with patients and seeing different generations of the same family is meaningful to me. I love hearing about their latest milestones, travel plans, and anything else they want to share with me.

To me, health care is about caring for the whole person. This is an approach we’re proud to take here at YES Dental. Everyone on this team is not only a fantastic person, but they’re also very competent and skilled in their work. Between our amazing team and incredible patients, we always seem to maintain positive energy here.

Certified Dental Assistant, Level II

I’ve been working at YES Dental for several years as a Certified Dental Assistant, and I love what I do here. Patients most often see me working as Dr. Lederer’s right hand, but when I’m not assisting with patients I’m happily pitching in with other team members or helping to clean and maintain the clinic. I believe the environment and atmosphere of the clinic are an important representation of the business, so providing a clean, comfortable space is a priority for me.

I love working in health care, and I believe this type of work brings out my unique strengths. I’m efficient, I’m determined, and I like things to be done the right way—for us and our patients. I enjoy getting to know all of our patients and building relationships with them.
